Tsukineko - Questions and Answers - Versa Fine

Accessories - Versa Fine
Q: What is Versa-Fine ink? It’s more expensive than Versa-colour, so why would I buy it?
A: Versa-Fine is an oil-base ink. The oil gives Versa-Fine some great characteristics. First, it outlasts most other pads on the market! The ink is very slow drying in the pad, and lasts for years. Second, it tolerates water and water based colouring markers, without bleeding or destroying stamped images.
Q: Is it slow drying on paper, too?
A: Oh, no, on the contrary! VersaFine is one of the quickest drying Tsukineko inks, when used on uncoated cardstock!
Q: Will the oil in the ink hurt rubber stamps?
A: In fact, just the opposite happens. The natural oils in the ink will actually condition the rubber of stamps and help to keep them from cracking.
Q: When I opened the Versa-Fine ink pad, there was a little sheet of paper on it. Do I need to save this?
A: This fabric like paper was placed on the pad at Tsukineko, to help the ink distribute evenly over the ink pad. It can be discarded.
Q: I notice the ink pad of Versa-Fine didn’t look fully inked when first opened. Is it defective?
A: When Versa-Fine inks are first opened, they may appear white or un-inked at the sides. Once the pad is worked, with a stamp or dauber, the ink will disperse across the pad very nicely.
Q: Is Versa-Fine ink more difficult to clean?
A: This is one of the easiest inks to clean up, and it doesn’t leave a residue.
Q: What’s the best thing about Versa-Fine?
A: The oil base on a very dense pad make Versa-Fine a stamper’s dream ink for use on porous, uncoated surfaces such as cardstock.
